Walmart announced its decision to institute a face mask requirement Wednesday morning. The rule goes into effect this Monday, including at store #4471 in Rawlins.

Area residents took to social media almost immediately, some commended the move, while argued the policy infringes on their personal rights.

Rawlins Police Chief Troy Palmer says his officers are prepared to intervene if a mask-less patron refuses to leave the store, but the RPD does not have the authority to enforce private business policies. Cali O’Hare reports.
