Report shows large influx of energy workers headed to Carbon County

Last week, the Carbon County Economic Development Corporation released the potential workforce estimates for pending energy projects in the area. According to EDC’s figures, the county will see a large influx of workers heading into this summer. Cali O’Hare has more.

New wind energy projects beginning next month

Some of the incoming contractors will start arriving over the next month to work on projects around Medicine Bow and Arlington. PacifiCorp and Rocky Mountain Power is kicking off work on several projects, including the Gateway West transmission line, the TB Flats and Ekola Flats wind projects, as well as the repowering of existing wind facilities. RPD warns parents about rise in youth vaping

The Rawlins Police Department and Carbon County Attorney’s Office are seeing an increase in the use of vaping devices by minors. Electronic cigarettes have become increasingly popular for adults trying to quit smoking, but the RPD says the devices are turning up in the hands of children. Cali O’Hare reports.

Organization offering free legal consultation this Thursday

Legal advice can be expensive. This week, however, you can get pointers on the law for free. Equal Justice Wyoming is visiting the Carbon County Courthouse on Thursday to provide one-on-one consultations for free. Emma Diercks reports.
