Sinclair eliminates community relations specialist

With her position eliminated, Ryta Sondergard will part ways with Sinclair Refinery at the end of the month.

The refinery notified employees late last week about the change. For nearly six years, Sondergard has served as the public face of the refinery as the company’s community outreach officer.

Many underfunded organizations have benefited because of her efforts. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare sat down with Sondergard to find out what happens next.

Encampment officials weigh changes to buffer zones

Town of Encampment officials will consider a memorandum of understanding with the county planning and zoning office.

The MOU would require the county to take comments from Encampment residents over any changes to land use near but outside the town’s municipal boundary.

A similar MOU with Saratoga has been revised to exclude the Old Baldy Club. That document is still pending approval. Emma Diercks has more.
