Two dead in highway crash outside Saratoga

The Wyoming Highway Patrol has confirmed that two people, one a male from Saratoga, died the two-vehicle crash on Wyoming 130 south of Saratoga on Tuesday afternoon. The identities of the victims have not been released.

Lt. Kelly Finn with the WHP said the area resident died after being airlifted from the scene. The other person, a tourist from Alabama, died at the scene. A third occupant in the vehicle from Alabama survived.
Carbon County Sheriff Archie Roybal said the crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. Roybal said a deputy, Sgt. Brian Lally, arrived on the scene a minutes after the crash occurred and called in emergency support. Fire departments from Encampment, Ryan Park and Saratoga along with Classic Air Medical, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and SCWMS arrived in a massive effort to render help.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is heading the investigation. Bigfoot 99 will have more details as they become available.

 

Rawlins hospital board shopping around for management

The Carbon County Commissioners and the Board of Directors of Memorial Hospital in Rawlins are forming a committee to request proposals for companies interested in managing the medical facility. Currently, Quorum Health Resources operates the hospital and county commissioners want to know what other options exist. Emma Diercks has the latest.

Railroad display closed as officials investigate possible asbestos

In Rawlins, a substance suspected to be asbestos has been discovered inside the old Union Pacific engine on display at a park in the city. Officials roped off the historic train engine Tuesday morning and are exploring several options to mitigate the problem as they await the test results. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

 

CCSD2 considers ending BLM lease
