The Wyoming Highway Patrol was involved in two unrelated vehicle pursuits yesterday involving stolen vehicles. One of the chases began outside of Rawlins on Interstate 80.

Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Highway Patrol Troopers were notified of a stolen vehicle traveling westbound on I-80 west of Rawlins. The driver failed to pull over after the WHP attempted a stop. The pursuing trooper performed a tactical intervention that brought the stolen vehicle to a stop around milepost 127 in Sweetwater County.

The unidentified male driver was taken into custody without incident.

The other pursuit happened on I-25 around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, beginning around Cheyenne and ending at Chugwater. The male suspect, also unidentified, was arrested after a brief foot chase.

The two men have been charged with possessing stolen vehicles, attempting to elude police and other traffic related charges. The incidents are still under investigation.
