The first reports of a wildfire burning south of Saratoga between Spring Creek and Jack Creek came in around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.
By 5 p.m., fire operation crews reported the Mowry Peak Fire, as the blaze was dubbed, at about five acres in size. By nightfall, gusty winds had spread the to 15 acres.
