Yesterday, Bigfoot99 reported on the Thursday morning crash that took the life of a Medicine Bow resident and seriously injured another. Bigfoot99 learned that our report, which was based on information provided by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, contained an error. We are correcting that here.

A written statement provided by Patrol stated that 21-year-old Medicine Bow resident Angel Solorio was traveling eastbound on Highway 130 in his 2013 Infiniti JX35, with Zachary Clar. The Highway Patrol said Solorio lost control of his vehicle and entered the oncoming lane. The front end of a westbound 2015 Jeep Compass, driven by 25-year-old Medicine Bow resident Richard King, collided with the Infiniti’s driver’s side fender and door.

Richard King died from his injuries at the scene. He wore his seatbelt and was not ejected in the crash. Angel Solorio and his passenger, Zachary Clar, failed to wear their seatbelts and were ejected. Angel Solorio and Zachary Clar were transported to different hospitals with serious injuries.

After hearing the story yesterday morning, Medicine Bow Councilman Justin George told Bigfoot99 that Wyoming Highway Patrol’s information was incorrect. George said Solorio and King were traveling together in the Infiniti. Councilman George said both men were driving to Laramie for work when they collided with Clar, driving the Jeep Compass. George said the Solorio and King families live together in Medicine Bow.

Bigfoot99 reached out to Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Gerdes for clarification. In a written communication, Trooper Gerdes said, “King and Solorio, driver and passenger respectively, were in the Infiniti, which was eastbound. King wore a seatbelt, was not ejected, but still died. Solorio did not wear a seat belt, was not ejected, and was hospitalized. Clar was in the Jeep, which was westbound. Clar did not wear a seatbelt, was totally ejected and was hospitalized.”

Bigfoot99 apologizes for any confusion brought about by the initial report.
