Tomorrow, Saturday, July 22nd, has been declared the National Day of the American Cowboy by the U.S. Senate.

U.S. Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis, both of Wyoming, introduced the bipartisan resolution with their colleagues. The resolution passed the U.S. Senate unanimously.

Senator Barrasso said the code is a simple matter of living a life of honesty, hard-work, and integrity.

Senator Lummis said the people of the Cowboy State have long celebrated the important contributions of the men and women of the American West. “The values of hard work, integrity and honoring your word were established by the cowboys settling Wyoming,” said Senator Lummis.

The bill enjoyed a dozen co-sponsors on its way to passage.
