The father of the deceased woman who was found dead at the Vedauwoo climbing area near Laramie last week played volleyball during her time at HEM High School.

The girl’s dad, Michael Hollaway, said his daughter’s death was most likely an accident.

University of Wyoming student Sabrina Geller was reported missing on February 11th. After Albany County sheriff’s deputies pinged her phone, Geller’s body was found two days later, on February 13th, at the Vedauwoo recreation area.

Speaking to Bigfoot99, Geller’s father Michael Hollaway said his daughter enjoyed playing volleyball at HEM High School in Hanna. Hollaway said Geller was studying psychology at the University of Wyoming and was a dedicated member of the military.

Hollaway said the Albany County Sheriff’s Office told him that Geller, without informing anyone, went to Vedauwoo on the morning of Saturday, February 10th. The exact time she departed for the popular climbing area is unknown. The next day, a friend of his daughter’s called to report her missing.

On the evening of February 13th, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying, “Sabrina Geller has been located in the Vedauwoo area deceased. The manner of death is unknown currently and an investigation is underway, although no foul play is suspected.”

Hollaway said he also doesn’t think foul play was involved in his daughter’s death. The girl’s father said her death was most likely a tragic accident.

Hollaway said the Albany County coroner told him that Geller died of exposure after being rendered unconscious on that cold February day.

Hollaway set up a GoFundMe account in his daughter’s name. The grieving father said the donated money will be used to pay for his daughter’s funeral services and settle any outstanding debts his daughter left behind.

As of yesterday afternoon, the Sabrina Lynn Geller GoFundMe page has raised $7,708 from 141 donors. Hollaway said he is overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.

Hollaway encouraged people to purchase a GPS tracker if they plan on venturing into the less traveled areas of the state. If his daughter had such a device, Hollaway said she would likely still be alive.

Funeral services for Sabrina Geller are set for this Thursday, February 22nd, at 3:00pm at St Matthew’s Episcopal Church, located at 104 South 4th Street (corner of 4th and E Ivinson St) in Laramie.

A reception will be held afterwards in the church’s undercroft. Hollaway said everyone is welcome to come and celebrate his daughter’s life.
