Boise State took control Saturday afternoon in the first quarter and pulled away for 56-42 win over Wyoming.

The season’s worst performance for Wyoming began late in the first quarter when Boise State went on an eight-nothing run and held the lead the rest of the way. The Broncos built their lead to 19 in the third quarter. The Cowgirls would not get any closer than nine points, shooting just 33% from the field.

With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 9-3 in conference play.

Coach Ezell said her players were out of synch. Ezell said this week’s bye is exactly what her team needs to regroup and get better for the second half of the season.

Wyoming will return to action this Saturday, February 17 with a trip to Colorado State for round two of the Border War with the Rams. Wyoming won the first go-round 67-63 on January 20th.

The 5-5 Cowboys return to action on Wednesday against Utah State in Laramie.
