Boise State hurt the Cowboys with offensive rebounds in the second half Tuesday night as the Broncos extended their winning streak over Wyoming to eight with a 72-62 victory.
Wyoming got off to a fast start, but the Broncos went on a 9-0 run at the end of the first frame to take a two point, 32-30, lead into the locker room at the break. Boise State started the second half with a 10-3 run and kept Wyoming at bay the rest of the night.
Sophomore guard Demarion Dennis led the Cowboys with 16 points.
Naz Meyer added 12 points on the night.
Wyoming cut the lead to two points in the second half but Boise State’s second chance points was a death blow. Head Coach Sundance Wicks said Wyoming’s lack of rebounding was too much to overcome.
With the loss, Wyoming falls to 15-13 overall on the season, 6-11 in Mountain West play. The Broncos come away 17-11 overall, 9-and-8 in conference play.
The Pokes take on Air Force inside the Arena Auditorium with a 2 p.m. start in what will be the final Saturday home game of the season at the Arena Auditorium.
