In sports, the Wyoming Cowboys will participate in the National Invitational Tournament, with a first-round NIT matchup against No. 3 seed Wichita State in the Tulsa Regional.
The top four seeds of the NIT were given to Auburn, New Mexico, Tulsa and Wake Forest. Wyoming was sent to Tulsa’s 8-team region. No. 1 Tulsa will face off against Stephen F. Austin. The No. 2 seed in the region, Oklahoma State, will meet Dayton and No. 4 UC Irvine will face UNLV.
First-round games will be played Tuesday and Wednesday with Wyoming and Wichita State set to tip off Tuesday at 5 p.m
The Cowboys fell in first round action at the Mountain West Tournament last Wednesday. Top seeded Utah State claimed the auto-bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 73-62 Mountain West championship win over second-seed San Diego State on Saturday.
It is the Aggies third MW post-season title in the last eight years and the 11th in program history.
