The Wyoming Cowgirls picked up a road win Wednesday night, defeating Utah State in Logan 54-48.

The Cowgirls, now 2-0 in conference play led most of the way, but the Aggies kept the game within reach. The score at the half was Wyoming 32, Utah State 26.

The Aggies started the night 2-for-2 from three, then missed their next 13 threes. Wyoming shot just 37.5-percent, going 4-of-22 from beyond-the-arc. The difference in the game was the Cowgirls held Utah State to 25 percent shooting from the field on their home floor.

After the game, Head coach Heather Ezell stayed focused on the positive saying she was happy to start January 1-and-0 on the road.

Allyson Fertig was the lead scorer on the night, knocking down 18.

The Cowgirls will shoot for a 3-0 start to conference play on the season when they travel to Air Force Saturday. The tip-off is set at 1 p.m. here on Bigfoot 99. Pre-game show launches at 12:30.
