Wyoming fell to Nevada Tuesday night 76-58 in a game that went sideways in the first half for the Cowboys.

Wyoming fell behind by 23 points. Stops were hard to come by. Buckets were even harder to find. The Cowboys shot just 26 percent in the first half. The Cowboys played much better in the second half, but the first half was deadly. With a 17-10 lead early, Nevada went on a 17-5 run and never looked back. At the half, the Cowboys trailed 44-21.

The frustrations led to Wyoming Head Coach Jeff Linder being tossed from the game in the first half.

UW Associate Head Coach Ken DeWeese said after the game that Nevada played like a NCAA Tournament team, and the Cowboy just did not play at the same level in the first half.

Wyoming freshman Cam Manyawu put in a good night with a double-double, 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Brendan Wenzel was Wyoming’s leading scorer on the night with 17 points.

Nevada was led by Coleman with 20 points going 4-of-7 from behind the arc. Jerrod Lucas added 19 points knocking down four threes as well.

The Cowboys return home to face Boise State in the Arena-Auditorium Saturday with the tip set for 5:30 p.m.
