In sports, get ready for some big-time football games in War Memorial Stadium next year.

The Wyoming Cowboys released their 2024 football schedule on Thursday. The Cowboys will play in Laramie against Air Force, Boise State, San Diego State and Utah State. The 14-week schedule has Wyoming on the road for games against Colorado State, New Mexico, San Jose State and Washington State.

The 2024 Mountain West schedule follows a 7+1 model. Each team in the conference will play seven league opponents, and either Oregon State or Washington State. The schedules show an even split of four home games and four away games among the eight contests.

The conference championship game will be played on December 7, 2024.

The wrinkle in this year’s schedule has Wyoming playing Washington State in Pullman. The Mountain West has formed an alliance for the 2024 season with the remains of the once mighty PAC-12. Only two teams remain in the league, Washington State and Oregon State.

Accommodating the ashes of the PAC 12 resulted in the Mountain West trimming the number of conference games to seven from eight for the upcoming year. Games involving the Cougars and Beavers against Mountain West teams will not count in the conference standings. Oregon State and Washington State The Cougars and Beavers will not be eligible for the MW championship.

Wyoming’s schedule originally was to include Nevada. That game was scrubbed for the game at Washington State.
