Wyoming won its first road game of the season Tuesday night, downing Air Force on the road 83-72.

With the big conference win, the Cowboys improved to 12-and-9 overall, 5-and-3 in Mountain West play. The Falcons fall to 8-and-12, 1-and-7.

The Cowboys pulled away from Air Force in the second half with lights out shooting. On a night when Sam Griffin was fighting an illness, the trio of Brendan Wenzel, Mason Walters and Aquel Kott put up 67 points collectively. Although not feeling his best, Griffin contributed on defense in nearly 30-minutes of court time.

Freshmen Cam Manyawu and Kael Combs contributed defensively with 9 rebounds and six points collectively on the night. Manayawu scored late in the second half with a highlight reel shot that drew a whistle.

No fun allowed in Cune Arena. Wyoming went on 16-0 run earlier in the second half to seal the win.

Wenzel was Wyoming’s leading scorer with 25 points on the night.  The Falcons were led Boylan with a career-high 32 points

The road trip continues for the Cowboys. They’ll head to UNLV for a Saturday game. Bigfoot 99 will be on the air at 5:30 with the pregame show. Tip at 6 p.m.
