Wyoming Head Football coach blamed himself for Saturday night’s loss to Boise State. Before turning the page to Friday night’s showdown with arch-rival CSU, Coach Bohl said he did not have his team prepared to play Saturday night. The Cowboys lost 32-7. The coach was essentially too easy on his team during the bye week. The result was the Cowboys being unprepared for a team that was out to avenge themselves for allowing CSU to come back and win in Fort Collins two weeks earlier.

The Cowboys looked horrible. They played even worse. The stat sheet is the proof. Wyoming rushed for a net 27 yards on the night. Almost all of them came from the quarterback who was running for his life. Andrew Peasley threw for 85 yards. On the night, Wyoming put up 112 yards of offense. Boise State racked up 443 yards. In third and fourth quarters, when Wyoming should have been mounting a comeback, their time of possession was barely nine minutes. Boise State controlled the ball for 21 minutes.

The numbers are ugly from the top of the stat sheet to the bottom.

Coach Bohl said the Cowboys have been successful this year in games where they played with “a chip on their shoulder.” The pokes better find that chip quick.

Time is tight. The Cowboys must suck up the bad loss and get ready to play Friday night against Wyoming’s biggest all-time opponent: CSU.

Wyoming and Colorado State will play in the 115th Border War.

The 3-and-5 Rams come into Laramie following two straight losses since the miracle win over Boise State. CSU fell to BYU Saturday night 30-13. The Rams lost to UNLV 33-25 the previous week.

Wyoming has held the Bronze Boot in the trophy case in Laramie the past two seasons. Goal One this week is to keep the Boot for another year.

The kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Friday night under the lights at the War.
