- The county’s voting equipment is still considered safe and reliable, but the system is showing signs of age. The Carbon County Clerk presented local officials with a plan to replace the old machines at a recent Carbon County Council of Governments meeting.
- The Sinclair Wyoming Refining Company has donated medical equipment to elementary schools in Carbon County School District #2.
- Leigh Vosler has been named the interim secretary of the Wyoming Republican Party. Vosler replaces Charles Curley, who resigned after physically assaulting executive directory of the state GOP, Kristi Wallin. The altercation took place during the party’s Lincoln Day Dinner at the Little America Hotel in Cheyenne. Curley’s attorney announced last week that his client had plead no contest of misdemeanor simple assault in Laramie County Circuit Court. The plea came one week after resigning from his position as secretary. Vosler is a past chair of the Laramie County Republican Party and past State Committeewoman.
- The Snowy Range’s elk herd objective is up for review by the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish to determine whether the population goal should remain the same of be increased or decreased.
- The Rawlins Downtown Development Authority has received permission to submit 24-thousand dollars worth of grant requests to offset the costs associated with this summer’s 150th Anniversary.
- The Little Snake River track team competed in Meeker Colorado over the weekend.
