Power Company of Wyoming asks for three-year extension on construction timeline

The Power Company of Wyoming wants to extend the construction timeline of their giant wind energy production plant south of Rawlins. PCW officials say the three-year extension will make construction cost-effective and be a better fit for marketing the electricity they hope to produce here. Emma Diercks looked into the delay and has the story.

Rawlins still lacks representation on county visitors council

Over the last year, only one person from Rawlins has applied to fill the open seat on the Carbon County Visitors Council to represent the city when tax dollars are distributed to local events. Casey Shinkle’s application first was ignored and then passed over by the previous administration.

On Tuesday night, a new city council rejected his nomination without even interviewing him. Cali O’Hare has the story about why Rawlins is still not represented on the Visitors Council.

Carbon County Search and Rescue fundraiser this weekend

The Saratoga Hot Springs Resort is hosting its 10th Annual Snowmobile Rally this weekend to raise funds for Carbon County Search and Rescue. County Sheriff Archie Roybal says fundraisers are essential to keeping Search and Rescue operational. Emma Diercks has the story.

 

 

Sports: High school football could see big changes around the state

While the schools around the county prepare for their second trip around quadrant play, the Wyoming High School Activities Association held their Winter Board meeting and the results could lead to change of how football is played in Wyoming. Joey Saverine has the story.
