An attempted vehicle break-in prompted a search by the Saratoga Police Department. The culprit is still at large.

Around 8:00 pm, Wednesday evening, Saratoga Police received a call of an attempted vehicle robbery in the area of 5th Street and West Main Avenue. Police Chief Mike Morris said despite being chased by the homeowners, officers were unable to locate the suspect.

A social media post about the alleged incident described how a person tried to break into the poster’s truck despite the outside lights of their home being on. It is unclear if the two incidents are related.

Chief Morris said no suspect has been identified at this time. The chief said the Saratoga PD is taking the incident very seriously.

Chief Morris encouraged residents to call the police if they see anything suspicious. The chief said his department welcomes any tips from the public.

Residents in the area are encouraged to be on the lookout for anything suspicious and to keep their vehicles locked.
