Rawlins will be celebrating with several community events July 10th through July 12th. The weekend promises a celebration of the past, the future, and the now. Say goodbye to SummerFest and hello to Half-Way Days. This year, Half-Way Days will be celebrated with the 250th Celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and our state’s 136th Birthday.
On Friday, July 10th, the weekend opens with Harvey Field Sky Festival. This event begins at 10 am at Rawlins Airport. There will be aircraft tours, a car show, airport tours, a cookout, live mural art, a ribbon-cutting and more! The festivities will end around 4 pm.
After leaving the airport, you will have little time as the Carbon County 250 Committee will start celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and Wyoming’s 136th birthday. Rawlins Depot Park will be the place for the event. There is a schedule of events that includes several showings of the documentary film, Journey to 250, and a talk about the making of the film. There will be a cornhole tournament, live music, a dance performance, and a birthday ceremony with cake.
All weekend you can enjoy 250 portraits from artists in our county displayed throughout downtown.
On Saturday, July 11th, multiple downtown businesses will be open.
The morning begins with a fundraiser pancake breakfast and goes all day long with eating contests, a hike, a car, bike and Jeep show, outdoor educational speakers, food trucks, vendors, and a bounce house all in or near the downtown area.
On Sunday, July 12th, multiple downtown businesses will be open again. There will be a church service, a family hike, a parade, and evening entertainment and a dinner fundraiser.
