County officials are seeking help to reduce fatalities on local roadways.
During the February 3rd Board of Carbon County Commissioners meeting, County Clerk Lisa Smith requested permission to submit a request for proposal, or RFP, for professional services to develop a comprehensive action plan. Clerk Smith said the project is related to the Safe Streets For All grant. Part of the Biden administration’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Safe Streets For All program provides funding for local governments to develop plans aimed at eliminating highway fatalities and injuries.
The Board of Commissioners authorized Clerk Smith to publish the Safe Streets for All request for proposal. She later posted on social media that the county is seeking proposals from qualified transportation planning and consulting firms to develop a comprehensive safety action plan focused on eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries for all users. All proposals will be reviewed by an evaluation committee, which will make a recommendation to the Board during its April 7th meeting.
All proposals must be received by Clerk Smith no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13th. Submissions received after that time will not be considered. Visit www.carboncountywy.gov for the complete list of RFP requirements.
