Spring flooding has come early to Elk Mountain. A slough behind the town broke out of its banks, Sunday. Town resident Brett Larson tells Bigfoot 99 the slough broke out of its banks and was running into town streets. Houses and structures have been impacted, according to Larson’s report. Diverting the water was the top priority, Sunday night. Town workers, with the help of residents, worked late into the night. Laying sandbags and constructing aqueducts in an attempt to divert the water.

Local and state crews were on the scene Monday morning, after other breakouts apparently occurred.
