As wind turbines get bigger, the bright red lights that blink on top at night can be seen from further away. The discussion on aviation lighting on turbines came to the Carbon County Commissioners after a request from the FAA for comment on an aeronautical study for the Lucky Star Wind Project east of Medicine Bow.

The governing body wishes to learn what the FAA requires for lighting and how they work with other federal agencies that permit wind development. Emma Diercks has the story.
