A fatal crash between a pickup truck and semi closed Highway 30 for a time Monday afternoon.

At around 2:00 pm yesterday afternoon, a black pickup truck crossed the center line and hit a semi-truck pulling a side dump trailer. The crash occurred on Highway 30, roughly 6 miles east of Walcott Junction.

According to witnesses at the scene, the semi-truck was traveling westbound when it struck the eastbound pickup truck. The big rig driver lost control of his vehicle and drove off a nearby overpass and into a ditch. The pickup spun several times after being hit, as indicated by tire marks on the road, before coming to a stop several yards away.

The semi-truck driver was declared dead at the scene. The condition of the pickup truck driver is unknown at this time.

Bigfoot99 will continue to follow the story and report back with additional information once it becomes available.
