In honor of Veterans Day, November 11th, Michael’s Big City Steakhouse is inviting the community to enjoy a free meal. Restaurant owner Mike Lujan will welcome guests to the steakhouse as a way of recognizing local veterans for their service.
Members of the Lujan family have hosted a Veterans Day meal for at least 15 years. Both Mike Lujan and his father are Air Force veterans who regularly attended a local Veterans Day celebration. When that event came to an end, Lujan said he and his father decided to continue the tradition by hosting a free meal at their Rawlins restaurant.
Lujan said the Veterans Day meal will feature free turkey, ham, roast beef, all the trimmings, and desserts, all served by volunteers. Before the meal, he will host a Veterans Day tribute inside of the restaurant.
Lujan described Michael’s Big City Steakhouse as the most patriotic restaurant in Carbon County.
Lujan said he feels blessed to be part of the community and is grateful for the opportunity to provide a welcoming place for everyone, especially veterans.
Michael’s Big City Steakhouse, located at 1711 West Spruce Street in Rawlins, will host its annual Veterans Day Dinner on Wednesday, November 11th, beginning at 5 p.m. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive early to help with setup. Food and beverages will be provided free of charge to everyone.
