Rawlins officials honor community members who make a difference.

Every month, the Rawlins Volunteer Education Recognition and Appreciation Committee selects a person or organization whose efforts have made a positive impact on the community. During Tuesday’s Rawlins City Council meeting, Fire Battalion Chief and committee member Allen Robinson announced that Rose Cain, owner of Dirty Boyz Sanitation Service and The Movies, was selected to receive this month’s Community Builder Award.

Following Chief Robinson’s announcement, Public Information Officer and Volunteer Education Recognition and Appreciation Committee member Mira Miller said Rose Cain demonstrates how a local business owner can strengthen the community. Through her work, Miller said Cain is actively involved in supporting community projects and local organizations.

Miller said Cain has directly contributed to the creation of the Depot Park Splash Pad and the Joshua “JR” Rodriguez skate park. In addition to those contributions, the business owner has provided free summer movies for children, donated sanitation services to nonprofit organizations, and volunteered employee time for cleanup efforts. Miller said Cain recognizes the impact local businesses can have on the community and works to make a difference.

Miller said Dirty Boyz Sanitation Service and The Movies, under Cain’s leadership, play an important role in the local economy.

The Volunteer Education Recognition and Appreciation Committee member read from Rose Cain’s nomination letter, describing how she contributes to the entire community.

Miller said Cain believes honesty, good communication, and listening without judgment are important to keeping people connected. She said Cain hopes Rawlins continues to be a close-knit community where residents look out for one another and lend a hand when needed, adding that Cain has done her part to make that vision a reality.

Next, Dirty Boyz Sanitation Service General Manager Patrick Gonzales spoke on Cain’s behalf, saying the recognition reflected the hard work and dedication of the company’s employees.

Every Community Builder Award winner receives a plaque and $100 to donate to a non-profit organization of their choice. Rose Cain chose to give her prize money to Pet Partners of Carbon County.
