Carbon County Economic Development Corporation held its annual fundraiser Friday night with a successful outcome.

Nearly 200 people from across the state attended the Guns and Roses event at the Platte Valley Community Center in Saratoga. Guests enjoyed a dinner serviced by the Saratoga High School boys basketball team. Around 25 donated to the affair and bid on hand-crafted items during an auction.

An exact final auction tally was not available, but CCEDC Executive Director Yvonne Johnson said between $31,000 and $35,000 was raised during Friday’s event. The star of the show was Gunner, a chocolate lab puppy trained by TYR K9 in Saratoga. Gunner sold to Jill and Mark Carrico, owners of Bi-Rite Sporting Goods in Rawlins, for $2,650.

Johnson said the proceeds will allow the Carbon County Economic Development Corporation to assist in business improvement and attract new businesses for a better Carbon County.

Johnson said, “It was a big successful event!”
