Hanna residents will now pay more to dispose of old car and truck tires.

The price to throw out passenger vehicle tires in Hanna has increased from $4 to $5 per tire.

During Tuesday’s Hanna town council meeting, Mayor Jon Ostling brought up resolution 2024-597 for a vote. Mayor Ostling said the resolution increases the price the town charges residents to dispose of unwanted car and small truck tires by one dollar.

Town Clerk Vivian Gonzales said the resolution only raises the price of car and small truck tires. Clerk Gonzales said the increase reflects the cost the town is charged to remove the tires. The price to throw out commercial truck tires will remain the same.

Resolution 2024-597 was passed unanimously by the Hanna town council. Hanna residents must now pay $1 extra per tire when disposing of them at the landfill on the east side of town.
