Two alleged bank robbers from New York were apprehended in Cheyenne. Sheriff Brian Kozak encouraged them to visit the Wyoming State Penitentiary in Rawlins.

Last week, Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak announced that on April 3rd, sheriff’s deputies arrested Anthony Reynolds of Brooklyn, New York, and Jonathan Stillworth of the Bronx in New York City for marijuana and open container violations.

In a social media post, Sheriff Kozak said the Casper Police Department issued a “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) for a Mitsubishi heading to New York City. The sheriff said the occupants were wanted for stealing from banks in Casper.

Knowing that Interstates 80 and 25 are likely routes to New York, Sheriff Kozak said deputies staked out the highways. Deputies spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Sheriff Kozak said Anthony Reynolds and Jonathan Stillworth were taken to the Laramie County Detention Center for possession of marijuana and open container violations.

Sheriff Kozak said that while Reynolds and Stillworth were being held in Laramie County, the Casper Police Department issued warrants for felony conspiracy to commit theft, and the men were transported to the Natrona County Jail. Sheriff Kozak joked that the suspects may have another opportunity to visit Rawlins before they return to New York.

Reynolds and Stillworth were taken to Natrona County Jail on April 6th and charged with felony conspiracy to commit theft, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. As of this report, neither man has made an initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court.
