Medicine Bow has a full town council again.

During Monday’s Medicine Bow town council meeting, Old West bar owner and Recreation Board member Kristy Wickizer was selected to fill the final open seat on the council.

Following the September resignation of Cindy Chase, the Medicine Bow town council was down one member.

During the October 9th town council meeting, Wickizer submitted her official letter of interest to fill Chase’s vacant seat. Mayor Bradley Buum read Wickizer’s letter.

The council was preparing to accept Wickizer’s appointment when several residents reminded them that an official notice about the position needed to be posted in a public place.

The council chose not to accept Wickizer’s nomination until the open council seat was properly announced.

At Monday’s Medicine Bow town council meeting, Mayor Buum said Wickizer’s was the only letter of interest the town received. The mayor said the council was prepared to make a decision about who to select for the open seat.

Councilman Justin George motioned to accept Wickizer’s letter of interest. Councilman Trevor Strauch seconded and Wickizer was chosen to fill the final Medicine Bow town council seat.

The council congratulated Wickizer on her appointment. Councilman George told the new councilwoman that she would be invited to obtain Public Official Bonding and take the oath of office later in the week.

With Wickizer’s appointment, the Medicine Bow town council now has a full roster. Wickizer joins council members Justin George, Sharon Kahl, and Trevor Strauch to sit on the board with Mayor Buum.
