The Medicine Bow Food Pantry has reopened in a new and larger location.

Wednesday was the grand reopening of the Medicine Bow Food Pantry. Assistant Director Lucy Schofield said representatives from the Food Bank of Wyoming and High Plains Power attended the event.

Originally on the second floor of the Medicine Bow Community Hall, the food bank is now located at 213 Maple Street. Schofield said the new building was donated by High Plains Power. The assistant director said the food pantry needed to move after receiving a large donation and to separate itself from the town of Medicine Bow.

Schofield said many Medicine Bow residents rely on the food pantry to feed themselves. The assistant director said more and more people are receiving assistance from her organization.

It can be hard for Medicine Bow residents to get to places like Rawlins, Casper, and Laramie to purchase food. Schofield said thanks to the Food Bank of Wyoming, the Medicine Bow Food Pantry is always well stocked.

Schofield asked people to visit the Medicine Bow Food Pantry if they wish to help or see how the organization operates. The assistant director also said people can receive more than just food from the food pantry.

The Medicine Bow Food Pantry is now located at 213 Maple Street in Medicine Bow and is open on Monday, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, Wednesday, 2:00 to 5:00 pm, and Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. No appointments are needed. Schofield said the food pantry will also deliver food to people unable to visit in person.
