The Medicine Bow recreation board is looking for people willing to share their skills and talents with residents.

Medicine Bow has put out a call for community-led skills and hobbies classes. The town’s recreation board needs volunteers with unique skills to teach others.

Councilwoman and recreation board member Kristi Wickizer said the classes won’t be limited to any particular skills or hobbies. Wickizer said the rec board has volunteers willing pass on their knowledge about baking, fitness, and crafting.

Wickizer said the recreation board is open to hosting classes about any skills and hobbies, from skateboarding to leather working. The rec board member said she would like to offer events that appeal to a variety of age groups.

Wickizer said the recreation board has not set a cap on the number of community-led classes they will offer. The rec board member said the town will work with everyone who wants to teach to find a convenient time and date for them.

Wickizer encouraged people to call the Medicine Bow town hall at 379-2225 to volunteer to teach a class. The rec board member said the classes aren’t limited to Medicine Bow residents. All are welcome to teach and attend.

The community-led classes aren’t the only event the Medicine Bow recreation board is planning. Wickizer said every two weeks from February 28th through April 20th, the town will host a Crime and Wine event. The rec board member said for $15 a session, attendees will be provided with wine and food while they try to solve a Hunt A Killer murder mystery.

Hunt A Killer is a subscription service where participants use clues provided each month to investigate a fictitious murder.

Wine and Crime attendees must be 21 and older. Registration is not necessary. Wickizer said to show up at the Medicine Bow Community Center at 6:00pm on one of the scheduled evenings with your $15 fee.

More information about the Wine and Crime events will be posted on the town’s Facebook page.
