Significant changes are coming for Memorial Hospital of Carbon County, and not for the better.

The Board of Trustees made what it described as “an incredibly difficult and emotional decision” to terminate labor and delivery services at the critical access hospital in Rawlins and do away with the specialized women’s healthcare clinic to improve the organization’s bottom line.

Cali O’Hare spoke with hospital administrators and nurses and filed this two-part story.
