A pickup truck stuck in the snow on the Deep Jack Road west of Saratoga led to the arrest of two suspects holed up in Rawlins who were wanted in the attempted homicide of a Missouri State Trooper.

The case began to unfold in late November when a local search and rescue team responded to an abandoned vehicle report on Forest Road 830. According to a release from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle check determined the 2020 Ford F-150 stuck in the snow was stolen out of Missouri. The resulting investigation focused on two suspects. John Glock and Nicholas Stephenson. They were arrested without incident on November 28 in Rawlins. Corporal Ralicia Tyler with Missouri Highway Patrol said the pair is accused of shooting several rounds at a trooper on November 19th during an attempted traffic stop.

In all, eight suspects were arrested on felony charges during the investigation. Three stolen vehicles were recovered. Two stolen handguns were located. Three of the suspects are facing methamphetamine charges.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, the Rawlins Police Department, and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation worked with the Missouri law enforcement during the investigation and arrests of the suspects in Rawlins.
