In Rawlins, a “No Unnecessary Travel Advisory” has been extended through Tuesday afternoon. City crews from multiple divisions are involved with snow removal efforts. Winds and icy conditions are making the work challenging. At 1 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service reported that Rawlins had been pounded with 24-inches of snow, making removal efforts difficult at best.

The motoring public is asked to limit travel today as much as possible and to drive as carefully as possible if you have to go somewhere.

As part of the effort to keep vehicles off the street, many city-operated facilities are closed today, including City Hall, Public Works/Community Development, Animal Shelter, Landfill, Recycling Center, Business Innovation Hub, Rawlins Family Recreation Center, Indoor Shooting Range and the Rochelle Ranch Golf Pro Shop.

Carbon County offices are also closed today. The County Commissioners meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday.
