The Rawlins resident who argued last month that he shouldn’t have to pay for a street patch because it was an improvement to the poor road-surface in front of his house, will see a reduction to his bill, but not because city council agreed to it.

Council declined to act on his request to waive the bill altogether, but the public works department said it mistakenly overbilled Derek Elliot by nearly $150 for the work. Cali O’Hare has the story.
