The Rawlins Police Department are searching for Wyatt Fluty and a red 1991 Chevrolet half ton pickup truck. Police chief Mike Ward said around 5:00pm on Thursday, July 27th, officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in an enclosed lot of a business on the 800 block of Airport Road. Chief Ward said Fluty escaped the police by smashing through the business’s fence. The police chief said Fluty ended up in a ditch near the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course.

After crashing into the ditch, Chief Ward said Fluty abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot east towards the golf course. Chief Ward said Rawlins Police surrounded the golf course, but Fluty escaped and supposedly stole a second vehicle from the Rawlins Municipal Airport. The police chief said the second vehicle contained firearms and ammunition. Chief Ward also said the car Fluty crashed into the golf course ditch was stolen from Denver, Colorado.

Chief Ward said Fluty has ties to Rawlins, Saratoga, and Encampment. The police chief said Fluty was allegedly living on the streets of Denver before appearing back in Rawlins on Thursday. Chief Ward said officers believe Fluty escaped from the area in the second vehicle, a red 1991 Chevy pickup truck with a toolbox in the bed. Ward said the stolen truck contained guns and ammo.

Chief Ward said to consider Wyatt armed and dangerous.
