Rawlins police are still asking for the public’s help in tracking down Wyatt Fluty and a stolen 1991 Chevy pickup truck.

Around 5:00pm last Thursday, July 27th, police spotted Wyatt Fluty sitting in a stolen vehicle on the east side of the city. Officers gave chase. During the pursuit, Fluty crashed through a chain link fence and drove the stolen vehicle into a ditch by the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course. Chief Mike Ward said officers cordoned off the golf course, but Fluty managed to escape.

Chief Ward said a half hour later, a red 1991 Chevrolet half-ton pickup truck was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Rawlins Municipal Airport. Fluty is believed to have fled the area in the truck. Chief Ward described the vehicle and said it had several guns inside.

Fluty has ties to Encampment, Saratoga, and Rawlins. Chief Ward said Fluty was most recently living on the streets of Denver, Colorado. Chief Ward said law enforcement agencies from three different states are searching for Fluty.

Yesterday, Bigfoot99 asked Chief Ward for an update on Fluty’s whereabouts. In a text message, the chief said, “Nothing new. Both truck and Fluty are still out there.”

The stolen truck contained several guns with ammunition. Chief Ward said not to approach Fluty or the red 1991 Chevy pickup truck. He asked anyone with information about where to find Fluty or the stolen truck to immediately call 911.
