The budget for Saratoga is relatively small, $2 million, but the complications and controversies over how the town’s books have been handled remain big and entangled.

This week, a budget amendment for this year’s budget passed three to one, but without moving excess revenue in the enterprise accounts into reserves.

Councilman Jon Nelson requested the transfers during all three readings of the budget amendment ordinance. The transfers were voted down all three times, including this week. Emma Diercks has the story.
