In addition to approving the second reading of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, the Saratoga Town Council also entertained the second reading of an amendment to the current financial budget at their special meeting last Thursday.

During the discussion, Councilman Jon Nelson again wanted to move excess revenues for the enterprise accounts out of the town’s general fund. The rest of the council rejected the motion, saying they wanted to see a financial report prepared by the town’s third party accountant.

The accountant, however, is withholding the report until he receives a legal assurance that he will not be sued by outside parties for the numbers used in the report. Emma Diercks reports.
