One person was killed and three others hospitalized in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on July 26th, 35‑year‑old Ahmed Fawad Sadiq of Thornton, Colorado, was driving a commercial semi-truck eastbound on Interstate 80 roughly 18 miles east of Sinclair, when he drifted into the median. According to Wyoming Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Aaron Brown, Sadiq hit a traffic‑control sign, overcorrected back onto the road, went into a skid, and rolled onto the driver’s side of the truck.
Sadiq was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. Two young juveniles and a 32-year-old female, presumably Sadiq’s wife and children, were injured in the crash and taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbon County for treatment.
Public Information Officer Brown stated that driver fatigue is suspected of being a possible contributing factor.
Brown wrote that Sadiq’s death is the 73rd fatality on Wyoming roadways this year, compared to 69 in 2025 and 54 in 2024.
