Wyoming residents have enjoyed a relatively mild winter so far. If you’re a rancher or a snowmobiler, you may be growing impatient for an impactful snowstorm. You’re in luck.

A one-two punch of snowfall and high winds is expected to hit the Cowboy State and much of the Rocky Mountain region through the weekend. Blizzard warning warnings across Wyoming are likely.

A Pacific system packing a lot of moisture is set to trigger the season’s biggest dump of snow of snowfall in a rapid succession of storms. As much as a foot of new snow is likely in areas of western Wyoming. Winter weather warnings have been issued for much of the state.

Residents here in Carbon County can expect a dramatic temperature drop heading into the weekend. The high on Saturday will only reach 18 degrees. Single digit highs are forecast for Sunday and Monday, with overnight lows dropping below zero.

Temperatures are expected to rebound into the mid and upper 30s next week. Hold on for a blast of arctic cold through the weekend.
