Carbon County Road and Bridge Coordinator Kandis Fritz announced Monday that two seasonal roads have closed for window. The gates on County Roads 401, the Sage Creek Road south of Rawlins, and County Road 500 west of Saratoga, are closed and locked for the season. The road and bridge department does not conduct winter maintenance on either route.

Seasonal routes are not plowed during winter months.

The closure of C.R. 401 and 500 follows the seasonal closure of the high-country sections of two state highways in Carbon County, Wyoming 130 and 70.

According to county road and bridge management policy, the department does not respond to calls from people who become stuck on closed county roads.
