Union Wireless users experienced a state-wide phone outage on Thursday last week. You may or may not have noticed.

Customers of Union Wireless lost the ability to make and receive telephone calls. Union Wireless Public Relations Manager Myra Robinson issued a press release on Monday evening.

Robinson’s statement read, “We experienced an outage April 20th that impacted voice services for both wireless and landline customers. We recognize how frustrating this outage was for our customers. We value our customer experience, and it is our highest priority to review the cause of this outage and use the information to mitigate future service disruptions. We are committed to providing reliable and essential communication services for the rural areas we serve.”

Data and internet access were unaffected.

Carbon County residents expressed concern and irritation on social media following the outage. The Bigfoot 99 phone system was affected. Robinson did not provide any additional information, such as the cause of the outage. Missed calls were available on the station’s voice mail service.

Our calls and emails to Robinson at Union Wireless in Mountain View about the outage went unanswered and unreturned.
