Delays plague Spring Avenue water line project through the center of downtown Saratoga.

Work began earlier this month to replace the water lines and repave the street from the old water treatment plant on River Street to the elementary school. As of now, the intersection of West Spring Avenue and South Second Street is blocked by construction.

The project is weeks behind schedule. Saratoga Director of Public Works Jon Winter said the construction company, Lewis & Lewis Inc., ran into various issues that delayed the work.

It is unclear if the work will be done before winter. The construction crew was on the job site working this past Saturday.
