Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray announced the launch of a web site dedicated to reporting business filing fraud in accordance with existing Wyoming law.

Gray also announced legislative priority to amend Wyoming law to allow the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office to administratively dissolve entities which have been found criminally or civilly liable for committing fraud on another person or entity.

The web site is /sos.wyo.gov/Business/ReportFraud.

Two conditions must be met under state law to dissolve a business. First, the business entity must have provided fraudulent information or failed to correct false information upon request of the Secretary of State’s Office. Second, the dissolution must be deemed to be in the interest of the public.

The Secretary may also administratively dissolve business entities if they are found to be owned or controlled by a foreign adversary.

State Representative Ann Lucas, a representative from Laramie County who is a retired banker, worked with Secretary Gray on developing the legislation.

The web site details information on the kinds of fraudulent activity that can be addressed under state law and how to report such crimes.

The web site includes a filing complaint form.

The secretary said in a statement, “Our administration has prioritized taking administrative action to dissolve fraudulent business entities in accordance with Wyoming law.”
