Two weeks became two years, and at long last the long ordeal is coming to an end.

In a definitive sign that the COVID-19 pandemic is over, Governor Mark Gordon announced yesterday that he has begun the process to end Wyoming’s COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration effective March 14.

The governor issued the “Declaration of State Emergency and a Public Health Emergency” on March 11, 2020. It has remained in effect ever since. Under the terms of the executive order, the emergency order had no sunset date. It could only be rescinded by order of the governor. The governor said most Wyomingites will not be affected by ending the Public Health Emergency.
