The Boise State Broncos came into Laramie Saturday and dominated Wyoming with a 20-point win—handing the Cowboys a 92-72 loss before a home crowd.

The Cowboys were largely defenseless. The Broncos hit their first three shots to take a 6-2 lead. The Cowboys never mounted much of a threat after the first half. Boise had opened up a 15-point lead at the half, and pulled ahead by 28 points at one point, knocking down 10 three pointer shots. Boise State outrebounded Wyoming 43-to-19. The Pokes showed no effort in the second half when they grabbed only six rebounds. By comparison, the Broncos grabbed 30 rebounds in the second frame.

Wyoming Head Coach Jeff Linder said his team did not play with the effort needed to pull out a win against a team like Boise State.

Wyoming’s record now stands at 13-14 overall, 6-and-8 in the Mountain West.

Two Wyoming freshmen stood out in Saturday’s loss.  Kael Combs added 12 points for his first career game in double-figures. Cam Manyawu added eight points and nine rebounds. The head coach liked their effort.

The Cowboys return to action on Tuesday hosting UNLV in the Arena-Auditorium for a 7 p.m.
