Wyoming was no match for Colorado State on Saturday in an 88-53 Border War loss.

The outcome was never in doubt. The Rams went on 9-0 run to start the game. After Wyoming finally made a bucket, CSU scored another nine straight points to take an early 18-3 lead.

The Cowboys hit just two of their first 16 shots and shot just 30%–8 of 27—in the first half. At the end of one, Wyoming was down 44-19.

In the second half, the Rams scored another 44 points. The Pokes shot better, adding 34. The Cowboys just didn’t guard. Cowboys Head Coach Sundance Wicks saw it this way.

The Rams ran roughshod, shooting 60.7 percent from the field. CSU hit 14 three-pointers with 58.3 percent shooting from behind the arc. The Cowboys have now lost five in a row. The disorganized, lackluster play did not sit well with Wyoming’s head coach.

Seniors, Obi Agbim and Dontaie Allen, led the Cowboys in scoring, each putting up 15 points.

Wyoming returns to the Arena-Auditorium, opening a two-game homestand, starting with Air Force on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
